Airfreight Disruptions Due to Middle East Tensions

Dear Valued Clients

Whilst the situation remains highly fluid and unclear, the recent escalation of conflict in the Middle East has caused significant disruption to global air logistics.

We understand that there have been widespread airline cancellations, including the temporary suspension of flights in and out of key regional hubs such as Dubai and Doha. Authorities in the UAE have implemented precautionary airspace restrictions and operational pauses at major airports, resulting in the closure or severe limitation of cargo and passenger services. SCT and our team are assessing all export and import shipments that may be impacted by these airline closures and will do all we can to reroute freight and obtain information from our ground-handling partners. Fortunately, we had a limited volume of cargo over the weekend booked with Qatar or Emirates, and we will personally contact any affected clients to provide an update and proposed strategy shortly.

The full global impact on flight schedules is not yet known, we however anticipate there to be severe space constraints on all airlines as volumes typically managed by the Middle Eastern airlines are rerouted to other operators. We assure you of SCT’s full attention in assessing the situation, making the best possible decisions under the circumstances for your cargo, and providing clear facts and options.
