China is experiencing a ramp in the number of covid cases, and we have noted several companies working remotely in an attempt to control the spread. It has been rumoured that some factories have closed and will not reopen until after the Chinese New Year (21st to 27th January), but our partners in China (Cargo Partner) have confirmed that at this time there are only a few isolated cases of closure and that most factories are still open and operational. This is obviously a very volatile situation, changing daily, but we assure you we will do all we can to ensure regular updates as our team in China feed back to us.
There is no doubt that covid outbreaks coupled with the impending Chinese New Year will impact on supply chain efficiencies and it is imperative that wherever possible, additional lead time is added to orders.
