Current Port Delays and Schedule Amendments

There have been ongoing operational delays across all South African Port terminals due to adverse weather conditions. Wind speeds have been recorded at gusts of above 75 kmph causing both landside and waterside operations to come to a standstill, causing major delays not only in deliveries but also in vessel delays and schedule amendments made by shipping lines at last minute. Schedules have become erratic, and many times changes occur hourly by vessel operators and ports as they shift vessel schedules, routings, and berthing slots in attempt to alleviate the backlogs and delays caused by port closures and weather damage. We understand the current frustrations and unknown forecasts and we wish to assure you that the SCT team are giving every shipment their utmost attention.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact your local SCT representative.
