Durban Container Terminal – Congestion

Durban Container terminals are currently experiencing a high volume of trucks waiting to uplift containers. Transnet has now suspended port bookings in attempt to alleviate backlog in the staging areas leaving transporters in queues all day with limited appointment slots made available. We sincerely apologise for delayed deliveries experienced over the past few days. Our team is working closely with all service providers to navigate the congestion and make deliveries soonest possible. Specific delivery delays will be communicated per shipment basis.

Please note that local terminals experience regular equipment challenges and breakdowns, which has a major impact on berthing schedules and ETA movements at our domestic ports. Vessel ETAs are currently erratic due to these operational challenges causing all round delays. Our team will update and communicate these delays soonest advised by the service providers.

Should you have any queries, please feel free to contact your local SCT representative.
