Further to our previous communication, shipping lines have now implemented a General Rate Increase (GRI) on all cargo moving ex China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and South East Asia to South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, and the Indian Ocean Islands. Please note the current GRIs implemented are between $200 – $300 per TEU. In addition, NVOCCs will also apply GRIs calculated per weight measure. These adjustments are driven by ongoing operational cost pressures and prevailing market conditions, and we will continue to monitor developments closely.
