Public Servants Association (PSA) Strike Action

We note that the Public Servants Association has announced an official strike starting today primarily reported to be affecting Home Affairs, the Department of Transport and the South African border controls in particular. There are largely unconfirmed reports being widely circulated of picketing and demonstrations at various points throughout South Africa. At this stage, the full impact and effect of the reported strike action is unknown, however, we are working closely with all stakeholders in our industry to keep us updated as possible. At this stage, we can confirm that our ability to process import and export declarations through SARS Customs does not appear to be affected nor access to cargo at major ports. We will however continue to monitor this throughout the day and keep you updated.
