Further to our previous correspondence, we can confirm that the SARS deadline of 31 March 2023 is the actual cut-off for all registered importers and exporters to update their details on the efiling platform for the RLA on-boarding integration. Kindly see updated response from SAAFF confirming the importance of this process:
The intent is to summarily suspend trader’s licenses. It is imperative that clients on board, in order to support the relationship management module and avoid unintended consequences (CBCU penalties, unauthorised use of ROG codes etc.) It is imperative that traders on board (you can circulate the attached to your clientele and the below troubleshooting in respect of user rights and merging) a common issue experienced.

In the event that onboarding has not been done, SARS will issue individual letters to the clients concerned affording them 14 days to reach out for assistance and on board accordingly. We will monitor this process very closely and raise concerns (if any) that prove the said process difficult. Should the 14 day deadline from date of issue of the said letter of notice, licenses will be summarily suspended.
