SARS URGENT ACTION REQUIRED BY IMPORTERS/EXPORTERS – PLEASE READ

Please do not ignore this very important communication for action required on your SARS business e-filing profile.

  1. RLA on-boarding registration deadline was communicated as 31 March 2023

SCT has been made aware of final notices being sent out by SARS confirming Notice of Intention – To Suspend for clients who have not yet followed the on-boarding process. All Importers and Exporters need to please review their registration status and follow the step-by-step process provided attached and video source below:

            Please note: SARS notices may have been emailed to the accountant in cases where they are the registered administrator on the business e-filing profile. 

            If the below notice has been received, it is imperative to register online now and write your appeal before the deadline.

  1. SARS Advanced Payment notification will be mandatory from 1 December 2023

All clients who make payment for shipments prior to arrival in South Africa will need to provide SCT with the APN reference number, which is required on the customs clearance entry.

We urge all clients to please take the necessary action and not delay on the above, as it will have implications on your import/export clearance and penalties from SARS.
