Dear Valued Client
Please refer to the below important information:
Truck Appointment Delays – Durban Terminals
Durban port terminals are currently heavily congested resulting in limited port bookings available to transporters to uplift containers and some slots completely closed as of 09h30 today. This congestion has been ongoing since Friday 3 May and resulted in multiple challenges in equipment and operations. Please expect some delay in deliveries, which will be communicated per shipment basis to each importer.
Far East Space Constraints:
Following our notification last week relative to the sever space constraints being experienced on all Far East to South Africa routes, we advise that the scenario is still critical with many shipping lines reporting three weeks backlog and high percentage of roll overs for booked cargo. The current constraints are being worsened by the recent holiday week, shortages of container equipment and the announcement of several additional blank sailings. SCT and our teams at origin are proactively reviewing all options on every single movement to ensure we provide our clients with the best possible solutions and options, but in many cases, we are seeing space unavailable for two to three weeks. Whilst we know this cannot always be accommodated, we would seriously recommend adding at least three weeks to all lead times until the situation normalises.
