Following previous communication in July, the Durban Container Terminal delayed plans to implement the new storage rule to accommodate operational delays by one month. The implementation of the new rule will only be effective during October for Pier 1 and November for Pier 2.
Under the new rule, the free 72 hours storage will begin 24 hours after a container has been discharged from the vessel providing additional time for transporters to secure port booking and collect containers.
