Activity at ports is resuming, however, at a snail’s pace. The number of available container booking slots are low and are quickly taken, considering the high demand. SCT trucking partners have manged to uplift several containers today and will continue to push into clearing backlog best possible. Export schedules and stack dates are being updated sporadically with very little movement of export.

The staff complement at Transnet is still limited and the backlog is severe. Shipping lines have advised it could take up to 10 days to clear some of the backlog created by the strike.

The SCT team will keep clients informed on the progress of shipments.
