Urgent update for all Importers – Durban and Cape Town Port Delays

Durban and Cape Town Port terminals are still experiencing major delays and congestion with vessels out at anchorage waiting to berth, some more than 15 days.

Herewith is a snapshot of the vessels outside these two main seaports with Durban being severely affected:


Durban port operations are currently at a standstill for wind causing a delivery delay for all importers. Herewith notice received earlier today:

DCT Pier 1 Waterside and Landside Operations is on standby for wind from 09:20 on 24/10/2023. New/unutilized appointments slots will not be available until Landside resumes Operations. Do not dispatch trucks to the Terminal without appointments, as they will not be processed. Wind speed was recorded at gusts of above 90 kph.

Please be advised that Pier 2 Landside and Rail operations are on standby for wind from 10H20 on 24 October 2023.New/unutilized appointment slots will not be available until Landside resumes Operations. Do not dispatch trucks to the Terminal without appointments, as they will not be processed. Wind speed was recorded at gusts of above 75 kph.
