USA Trade – Emergency Operations Surcharge

Please review the below notice concerning the EOS applicable to US imports and exports.

The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA), which represents dock workers along the US East and Gulf Coast, could initiate a labour strike on the 15th January 2025 if an agreement on unresolved contract issues is not reached. In the event of labour action and anticipated disruptions, an EOS (Emergency Operations Surcharge) will be applicable.

LCL Exports: an Emergency Operations Surcharge of US$ 40.00 w/m will be applied on all exports to the US East Coast/Gulf ports arriving on or after the 15th January 2025.

LCL Imports: an Emergency Operations Surcharge of US$ 40.00 w/m will be applied on all imports from the US East Coast/Gulf ports starting from Shipped On Board (SOB) date 15th January 2025.

FCL Shipments – as per MSC notice, an Emergency Operations Surcharge will be applicable from the 25th January 2025 upon receipt of shipment as per below breakdown:
