Dear Valued Client

Please review the attached notices on current wage dispute and port congestion.

Update on Potential Port Strike

Wage negotiations between UNTU members and Transnet remain unresolved, with a Commissioners’ Proposal for Settlement currently pending acceptance by UNTU leadership. Discussions in the next 48 hours are critical, but it is our hope that an amicable settlement will be negotiated to alleviate a strike.

Durban Pier 2 Congestion

Transnet has published a congestion notice at Durban Pier 2. Appointment slots for truckers are currently limited in attempt to alleviate the congestion, and the demand is so high that reviewed slots are booked instantly. This has a ripple effect on port operations and customer deliveries. but our team is actively working alongside service providers to minimise delays per shipment basis as best possible.
